Who is Isaac?
Isaac is the son of Abraham and Sarah, born to them in their old age as the son God had promised. He is the second of the three patriarchs of Israel, after Abraham and before Jacob.
As a boy, Isaac is the subject of a severe test: God tells Abraham to offer him on a mountain, then stops Abraham and provides a ram in his place. Isaac later marries Rebekah, and they have twin sons, Esau and Jacob.
In his old age, when his sight has failed, Isaac is deceived into giving the blessing intended for Esau to his younger son Jacob.
