Who is Michael?
Michael is named as an archangel and as a heavenly prince who watches over God's people. In the book of Daniel he is called one of the chief princes and the great prince who stands watch over Daniel's people.
In the letter of Jude, Michael the archangel disputes with the devil over the body of Moses, yet does not bring a slanderous charge against him, saying instead, 'The Lord rebuke you!' In Revelation, Michael and his angels fight against the dragon.
The text presents Michael as a defender and a warrior on behalf of God's people, though it says little about him beyond these scenes.
